What is the Venturing Program?Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America, for young men and women who are 14 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years of age. Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults. Sea Scouts
Sea Scouts is a specialized part of the Venturing program with an emphasis on recreational boating and seamanship skills as methods of developing leadership and citizenship. Its history precedes the Venturing program, stretching back to 1912, just two years after the establishment of Scouting in America.
