On March 21, 2009, Cub Scouts from Pack 475 began a new Pinewood Derby tradition at Ft. Caroline United Methodist Church.  The entry fee for their car was a can good or other non-perishable food item.  The 13 racers donated almost 70 food items that were then donated to the Arlington Community Services Food Bank.

Representatives from Arlington Community Services were very appreciative of the donation and stated the food was needed as their services are being stretched thin because of the current economy. 

Pack 475 would like to challenge the other Packs in the Shawnee District to think about starting their own food collection drive as part of their Pinewood Derby next year.
