THE TOP CHOICES

Suwanee River  http://www.floridastateparks.org/suwanneeriver/default.cfm  I actually have us penciled in for the weekend at the Hickory Oaks campground.  They have facilities, but COLD showers.

Ft. Clinch - need to call Monday 18th at 8:00 AM for reservation.  This is the typical 60 day window.  I can call.

Ocala - Lake Shore Campground - http://www.recreation.gov/camping/Lake_Shore_Group_Camp_Fl/r/campgroundDetails.do?page=details&contractCode=NRSO&parkId=75399&topTabIndex=CampingSpot   This is available on-line.  It looks nice and can accomodate 50 people which I think should be enough.  Doe Lake Campground also looks very good and accomodates 150, but its booked.

Gold Head - This is available, but primitive

FOR FUTURE CONSIDERATION

Wekiwa Springs State Park http://www.floridastateparks.org/wekiwasprings/default.cfm  is NE of Orlando.  A little farther away than normal but it looks cool.  It has a Youth Camp with Cabins (minimum 60 people - max. 166) and 3 youth campgrounds that hold 20 each.  They are sending me the paperwork for the Youth Camp.  This deserves serious consideration for future outings.

Osceola - Coean Pond http://www.fs.fed.us/r8/florida/recreation/index_osc.shtml?p=1.1.9.3#camping - The Boy Scouts went to this place.  I missed, but Chase said it was good.  They are booked.

Tomoka  http://www.floridastateparks.org/tomoka/default.cfm  ALREADY BOOKED.  This place sounds great (close by and hot showers) but is limited to 35 people.  They are willing to exceed this number by request.  This might be one of the places where we tell the Pack to sign up and the first 45 campers ONLY.  Others can come out for the day.

Princess Park - booked

Camp Chowenwaw
This is TOO COOL.  You have to check this out...

The tree houses are NOT available for our weekend, but everything else is!!!  The campsites have shelters with nice facilities including dining halls.  It might be a bit scattered, but we could even offer cabin camping for those who choose.
